Born 6th April 1950, in Sofia. Graduate of University of Sofia (1968-1972), diploma no. IP-5-243-10 certifying completion of a course of Polish language. Philologist, journalist.
Translated literary works from Polish and Russian.
Meritorious for Polish Culture Decoration (1984), ZAiKS Award for Excellence in Polish Literary Translation (2007), 3 Awards of the Bulgarian Translators Association, including for Excellence in Polish Literary Translation (2016). Gold Cross of Merit (Poland, 2019).
Numerous interviews (e.g. with A. Wajda, K. Zanussi), articles on literature, culture and social and political issues, printed in Bulgarian (Kultura, SEGA, Standart, Literaturen westnik, Teatr, LIK) and Polish press (Gazeta Wyborcza, Literatura na Świecie), correspondent on Polish matters for nationwide Bulgarian private television bTV (2004). Co-authored the book “Polski pejzaż polityczny” (1998).
Member of the Bulgarian Journalists Association and the Bulgarian Translators Association.
Worked for the Foreign Committee of the Bulgarian Writers Association. Edited literary journals, and also served as First Secretary for the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Poland. Consulted on Polish matters during the three-year EU project LINGUA at Bulgarian National Radio, “Hristo Botew” programme, and also reported for the bTV television from Warsaw.
