Lucyna Chworost (Ukrainian: Люцина ХВОРОСТ, Liutsyna KHVOROST) – born in 1982 in Kharkiv. Journalist, essayist, literary critic, translator of Polish literature into Ukrainian. She graduated in Ukrainian studies at the V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. Longtime journalist and freelance author for Berezil, a literary opinion journal (Kharkiv, after 2020 – Kyiv). She received the Oles Honchar International Literary Prize in the category “Short Prose” (Kyiv, 2012). She is the author of a book of interviews with Ukrainian literary figures and social activists (А скажіть, будь ласка… – And Would You Please Tell Me…, Kyiv, Jaroslaviv Val 2017) and three volumes of poetry. A member of the Apostrof Literary Club in Kharkiv. A member of the National Writers’ Union of Ukraine since 2012. After the start of Russia’s full-scale aggression on Ukraine, she moved to Poland. She lives in the Masovian Voivodeship and currently works as a sworn translator.
