Jakub Sęczyk

(b. 1993) – poet, prose writer, editor, literary critic and cultural organiser.

He has published two poetry books, “Święta pracy” (Labour Days, 2022) and “Kwaśne obole” (Sour Obols, 2025), and the chapbook “Katalog ofert” (The Catalogue) published in the anthology “Poetyckie debiuty 2019” (Poetry Debuts 2019, 2020). Winner of the Special Award at the 2020 Jacek Bierezin National Poetry Competition. His debut work, Labour Days, received a nomination for the Wiesław Kazanecki Literary Award of the Białystok City Mayor and for the Gazeta Wyborcza WARTO Award, and a distinction at the Kazimiera Iłłakowiczówna Competition (all in 2023). His short story “Akademia” (Celebration) was nominated for the Grand Prix at the International Short Story Festival in Wrocław (2024). He edited the “Pąd, ponowa” poetry series for the publisher papierwdole and was one of the originators and curators of the “Czwartki ujemne” and “Permutacje” series of author events in Wrocław.
