From December 4–8 the La Nuvola convention center in Rome hosted a book fair for small and medium-sized publishers. As part of the event, the Book Institute, in cooperation with the Polish Institute in Rome and the Keller Editore publishing house, organized an author meeting with Wojciech Górecki, whose Abkhazia was published this year in Italy.
Thanks to the ©Poland Translation Programme, several new translations of Polish books have recently been published abroad. Notably, two translations by Olga Tokarczuk – the essay ‘Czuły narrator’ and the novel ‘Empuzjon’ – were released by the Macedonian publisher Antolog, translated by Lidija Tanushevska.
As part of the ©Poland Translation Programme, the Book Institute has recently funded a number of translations. Of particular note is the translation of “Sklepy cynamonowe” into Danish, which was translated by Judyta Preis and Jørgen Herman Monrad and published by the Turbine publishing house.
