Polish stand at the International Book Fair in Rabat
04.28.2026

For the first time in history, books by Polish authors will be presented at the International Book Fair in Morocco’s capital, Rabat. The Polish stand, organized jointly by the Book Institute and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Morocco, marks the opening of a new chapter in literary exchange between Poland and the Arabic-speaking countries, where our literature remains largely unknown.

At the fair we will present children’s literature and fiction, promote Polish illustrators, and hold talks with publishers from Morocco and other Arabic-speaking countries. Volunteers are helping us run the stand — students from the Polish language programme in Rabat together with their lecturer, Justyna Kłyszcz.

The Book Institute will be represented by Director Grzegorz Jankowicz and Deputy Director Agnieszka Rasińska-Bobr. At the Embassy’s invitation, representatives of the Institute will also take part in the May 3rd celebrations and a reception organized by the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Morocco.

The fair will run from April 30 to May 10, 2026, and will host nearly nine hundred publishers from sixty countries. The theme of the 31st edition is the life of the famous 14th-century Moroccan traveler, Muhammad Ibn Battuta.
