Wars is the third book by creative duo Boguś Janiszewski and Max Skorwider, following Walls and Revolutions. It is a simple introduction to some of the complex and important changes in our history and their consequences.
The book focuses on a dozen or so of the 15,000 wars that have been fought by man. The author covers both bloody and bloodless wars, those that ended successfully and changed the world for the better, as well as those that should never have happened.
Readers can investigate the subject of war, learning historical facts and meeting some of the characters who influenced the course of history. The detachment and sense of humour of both the author and the illustrator are noteworthy – they manage to present the history in an original way, with a sense of wry reflection on the fate of humanity.
