Tigre is the star of Paradiso circus. Every evening, crowds of spectators applaud his spectacular leaps through the flaming hoop. But when the tiger rebels one day, the director of the circus decides to sell him.
Thus begins a story inspired by real events: the apprehension of an illegal transportation of tigers on the Poland-Belarus border in 2019. It is also the story of Ewa Zgrabczyńska, the director of Poznań zoo, who set out to save the animals.
Cezary Harasimowicz’s poetic language and the moving illustrations by Marta Kurczewska – who previously teamed up with Harasimowicz on the prize-winning children’s book Mirabelle – bring the story of the tiger to life for children in a heart-warming way.
