This graphic reportage depicting true stories of lynxes and humans was written by a wildlife scientist and two famous Polish graphic artists.
It is a remarkable and extremely interesting book, dedicated to the mysterious predators known as lynxes, the largest wild cats in Europe. There are only 350 of them in Poland; they are strictly protected and require respect and care from humans. Michał Figura is a lynx specialist whose work involves looking after their wellbeing and studying their habits. The product of his collaboration with Aleksandra Mizielińska and Daniel Mizieliński is a fascinating nature documentary comic that illuminates the reality of protecting the lynx population in Poland. By presenting the fates of the lynx heroes – Marysia, Jantar, Skalny, Płona, and many others – the authors tell the story of the lives of these animals and the closely related lives of people. They show the true face of nature, based on scientific research, as well as authentic photographs, recordings and GPS coordinates, and highlight the fact that helping wildlife can be a truly difficult job.
