This is a humorous board book that plays a geometric game with little readers – revealing a world of shifting vertical and horizontal perspectives.

The story uses imagery from the everyday life of kids, parents and pets to weave together a comedic tale of vertical activities – such as walking to work – and horizontal ones – lying down after a tough day, perhaps. A stroll with the dog is transformed when everything goes vertical after the dog spots a cat and a swift chase ensues. To follow the story, the reader keeps turning the book up and down, right and left. The style of illustration is bold and creative, with human and animal figures stretching across the page in every direction. On every page, readers can attempt to guess what might come next, sparking their imagination and sensory experience. The book’s uncanny approach to geometry and perspective won it a distinction in the Jasnowidze competition for children’s book illustration.
