This is a book recommended by developmental psychologists, consisting of colourful fold-outs presenting 14 feelings that a Small Person has to cope with: from joy, through sadness, fear and disgust to delight and stillness.
The feelings are drawn with simple lines on a cat’s face. The thick, cardboard pages have been designed so that a child doesn’t only match the elements according to colour, but also creates from them their own, creative combinations. The stripped-back graphics also make the book wonderfully suitable for children with special needs. All the elements of the book were created in consultation with educational experts, psychologists and speech therapists. There were also trialled in Krakow nurseries.
The book grows along with the child. First, it may be an object of play: the construction and robust material can withstand the rough treatment of little hands. Then follows a time of fitting the elements together and conversations about the feelings presented. As children get older these conversations become more profound.
