Most of us have seen the footage of little Amelia singing in a bomb shelter in Kyiv. She became a symbol of all children in Ukraine who have been deprived of their childhood by the war.
Amelia, like thousands of Ukrainian children, had to escape the bombs, explosions, and tanks rolling into their cities and towns. She found her new home in Poland, where she is attending school, developing her talents, singing and painting.
Maybe some new students have joined your class too? Perhaps you couldn’t communicate with them at first? And maybe the teachers weren’t sure how to run the lessons?
This is a complicated and difficult situation for all of us, adults and children alike. The most important thing is that your new classmates feel safe here.
Just like Amelia, the girl whose power melts people’s hearts.
