Numbers increase, but unpredictably. Beginning with nine lightbulbs, we end up with 100 falling stars. Along the way, among the elements of this world – depicted precisely, colourfully and in a seemingly simplified way – we can find 33 frogs, 34 cherries and 35 bubbles exhaled as someone swims underwater. What can there be 32 and 36 of? It’s a challenge for young discoverers (and perhaps also beginner artists) to come up with pictures for them, even the most crazy ideas, which make this book – written and illustrated by Maria Dek – hilarious.
