The authors teach children mindfulness very compellingly and show that silence doesn’t have to be empty or boring, quite the opposite, it’s full of hidden sounds – the melodies of nature, the ticking of a clock, rumbling in your tummy, and even the dreams of falling stars. Silence also allows us to stop and listen to our thoughts and feelings, we need it in order to profoundly experience important moments. Thanks to Kasia Walentynowicz’s illustrations the book becomes a real feast for the senses – the abstract shapes and intensive colours ideally render the protagonists’ emotions and the dynamic of Silence and Noise’s turbulent relationship.
