Book fairs
The Leipziger Buchmesse and the accompanying multi-day festival Leipzig Liest are starting. The fair will run from March 19 to 22. The Polish stand was organized by the Book Institute in cooperation with the Leipzig branch of the Polish Institute in Berlin.
German readers will have the opportunity to meet Polish authors whose books have been published in German translation. Among the event’s guests are Dorota Masłowska (promotion of Magiczna rana, Rowohlt Verlag, tr. Olaf Kühl), Marta Dzido (promotion of Sezon na truskawki, MaroVerlag, tr. Antje Ritter-Miller), Julia Fiedorczuk (promotion of Pod słońcem, Transit Buchverlag, tr. Joanna Manc and Lisa Palmes), Adam Wajrak and Tomasz Samojlik (promotion of Detektyw Wróbel i złamane pióro, Edition Helden, tr. Karin Ehrhardt), and Maciej Siembieda (whose Katharsis will be released in March by Polente Verlag, tr. Ewa Krauss). The Book Institute supported the publications of books by Dorota Masłowska, Julia Fiedorczuk, and Adam Wajrak and Tomasz Samojlik under the ©Poland Translation Programme.
Also planned are a presentation of the magazine ‘Radar,’ published by the Decjusz Villa, and events featuring authors from France, Germany, and Poland as part of trilateral cooperation within the Weimar Triangle.

On Thursday, May 14, the 31st edition of the International Book Fair and Svět knihy Literary Festival in Prague began. The event, which runs until Sunday, May 17, will be attended by a whole host of Polish authors.
