Olga Bagińska-Shinzato

A graduate of the Institute of Iberian and Ibero-American Studies at the University of Warsaw and the University of Brasília, where she studied literary studies. She teaches Brazilian literature and Brazilian Portuguese at the Faculty of Modern Languages (Neofilologia) of the University of Warsaw. She is the originator and co‑founder of Poland’s first Department of Brazilian Studies, inaugurated at the Institute of Iberian and Ibero‑American Studies, University of Warsaw, in 2020, which conducts research and teaching activities devoted to Brazil. She is a co‑author of the Brazilian Studies program at the University of Warsaw. She is the author of literary translations into Brazilian Portuguese (works by Olga Tokarczuk, Andrzej Sapkowski, children’s literature) and into Polish.
