Monika Lutostanski is a translator, linguist, and astrologer. Born in the US, she lives in Kraków. With a background in Slavic languages and literatures, she translates from Polish and Russian into English. Her recent work includes translating a Siberian exile’s memoir for the Sybir Memorial Museum and scholarly essays on Cyprian Norwid for the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. In 2024, she was the Polish-language mentee in ALTA’s Emerging Translator Mentorship, working with Bill Johnston. She is drawn to reportage, contemporary fiction, and marginalized voices.
