Awarded the Laure Bataillon Prize for The Books of Jacob – the best translated novel published in France (2018). Awarded the French order of Chevalier des Arts et Lettres for introducing awareness of Polish literature into French culture (2023). Author of academic books on the subject of literary and translation theory, and many articles. Her research interests focus on Polish literature of the 20th and 21st centuries, as well as on the reception of Polish literature in France via the art of translation.
Her translations were the subject of Magdalena Mitura’s habilitation thesis: The Passion of Mediation. Translation as meta-operation in French translations by Maryla Laurent, UMC-S, Lublin 2018, (364 p.)
