Marek Jacek Kazmierski
He is an actor, author, artist, filmmaker, educator, and translator. He has translated books by Jan Brzechwa, Aleksander Fredro, Zuzanna Ginczanka, Jan Himilsbach, Grzegorz Kasdepke, Dorota Masłowska, Adam Mickiewicz, Julian Tuwim, Jakub Żulczyk and others into English. He has worked with writers and artists in prisons, psychiatric hospitals, and refugee centers in the UK and elsewhere. He has been a trustee of various charities, including ENGLISH PEN in the UK and the Griffin Poetry Prize in Canada. In 2020, he created “Our Great Book of Poland,” the largest anthology of poetry in the world. He is currently working on a trilogy of musical projects based on the works of Fryderyk Chopin, Elvis Presley, and other musicians of Polish origin (Cohen, Grechuta, Eminem, Kora, Osiecka, Młynarski, Przybora, et al.).
