Literary scholar, translation theorist, translator. Professor at Departamento de Polonês, Alemão e Letras Clássicas and Pós-Graduação em Letras at Universidade Federal do Paraná, Curitiba (Brazil). His oeuvre includes the books “Teatr niepokoju: studium porównawcze dramaturgii Stanisława Ignacego Witkiewicza i Oswalda de Andrade” (Theatre of Anxiety: A Comparative Study of the Drama Works of Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz and Oswald de Andrade, Kraków: Universitas, 2001), “Sob o signo de Babel: literatura e poéticas da tradução” (Vitória: Flor&Cultura, 2006; co-edited with Raimund Carvalho and Wilberth Salgueiro), several dozen book chapters and research papers published in Brazil and abroad, and numerous popular science articles.
