Liisi Laineste is a folklorist, translator, and works currently as a Research Professor at the Estonian Literary Museum. Alongside her academic work, she has translated poetry as well as a range of contemporary children’s literature from Polish into Estonian, through which she has introduced Estonian readers to a number of acclaimed Polish authors (among others Marianna Oklejak, Adam Mirek and Artur Gębka). By combining scholarship and translation, she contributes to the promotion of Polish literature and research in Estonia.
