Li Yinan

Professor at the Beijing Foreign Studies University, head of the Department of Polish Language and executive director of the PUFO Centre for Polish Studies. She earned her doctorate in Polish literature at the University of Silesia in Katowice. A researcher of Polish literature, comparative studies and literary relations between Poland and China, she translates Polish literature from Polish into Chinese. She worked at the Cultural Department of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Poland. Recipient of the Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage award for contributions to cultural exchange; in 2024 she was awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland. Author of the monograph Literatura polska w Chinach, nominated for the Jan Kochanowski Prize, and the book Spotkanie jedwabiu i bursztynu. She has translated, among others, Wisława Szymborska’s Poczta literacka and Olga Tokarczuk’s Opowiadania bizarne and Ostatnie historie.
