Radosław Wiśniewski

(b. 1974) – poet, prose writer, columnist and literary critic, editor and publisher, cultural organiser, social activist.

He has published the poetry books “Nikt z przydomkiem” (Nobody with a Nickname, 2003), “RAJ/JAR” (co-written with Dariusz Pado, 2005), “Albedo” (2006), “Korzenie drzewa” (Tree Roots, co-written with Dariusz Pado, 2007), “NeoNoe” (2009), “Abdykacja. Wiersze zaangażowane i nie” (Abdication. Poems Engaged and Not, 2013), “Inne bluesy” (Other Blueses, 2015), “Dzienniki Zenona Kałuży” (Zenon Kałuża’s Diaries, 2017), “Siedem książek porzuconych” (Seven Abandoned Books, 2022) and “Psalm do Świętej Sabiny” (Psalm to Saint Sabina, 2022), the autobiographical debut novel “Transmigracja” (Transmigration, 2019), the fantasy/poetic novel “Korniki gniewu” (The Woodworms of Wrath, 2020/21), the collection of letters to his son “On uczyni świat lepszym. Listy do Tymoteusza” (He Will Make the World Better. Letters to Tymoteusz, 2025), a cross-genre collection of reflections and prose miniatures “Bany” (Bans, 2025), and a few volumes of historical tales. His work has been recognised with, among others, the Marek Jodłowski Literary Award (1999).

He co-founded the poetry group Stowarzyszenie Żywych Poetów (Living Poets Society) in Brzeg and was one of the main contributors to the artzine “BregArt”, published by the group from 1998 to 2004. In the years 2002–2008 he co-edited “Ósmy Arkusz”, a quarterly literary supplement to the monthly “Odra”. In the years 2006–2013 he was editor-in-chief of the quarterly “Red.”, published in Brzeg. As an activist, in 2007 he initiated the online project “Pekin 2008 – druga strona medalu”; in 2009, he and Patryk Doliński rebranded it into “Poeci dla Tybetu” (Poets for Tibet). In 2010 and 2015 he initiated art activities under that banner. He currently co-runs a number of online and social projects, including the Living Poets Society, the Facebook page Laboratorium Empatii (Laboratory of Empathy), the YouTube account Wartak.pl. Radosław Wiśniewski’s work has been translated into English, German, Spanish, Czech, Hungarian and Ukrainian, and included in many anthologies.
