Radosław Kobierski
(b. 1971) – poet, prose writer, journalist, columnist, painter and photographer.
He has published the poetry collections “Niedogony” (Fusel Alcohols, 1997), “Rzeź winiątek” (The Slaughter of Nocents, 1999), “We dwójkę płyną umarli” (The Dead Swim in Twos, 2002), “Południe” (South, 2004), “Lacrimosa” (2008), “Drugie ja” (The Other I, 2011), “Coming out” (2017) and “Człowiek ma cienkie ściany” (Man Has Thin Walls, 2025), two short story collections: “Wiek rębny” (Ripe, 2000) and “Na wulkanie” (On the Volcano, 2025) and two novels: “Harar” (2005) and “Ziemia Nod” (Land of Nod, 2010). He co-originated the well-known Upper Silesian poetry collective Na Dziko, founded in 1994.
In 1995 he debuted with the poem “Czas pora światło przestrzeń” (Time Season Light Space) in the Na Dziko supplement to the cultural quarterly “Opcje”. In 1996 he debuted as a prose writer in “Arkadia” with the piece “Widokówka z okna” (Postcard from the Window). The volume Lacrimosa earned him a nomination for the Gdynia Literary Prize (2009) in the poetry category. Land of Nod brought the author the Guarantee of Culture Award presented by TVP Kultura, a nomination for the Gdynia Literary Prize in the prose category and a nomination for the Angelus Central European Literature Award (all in 2011). His poems and prose have been translated into English, German, Italian, Croatian and Hungarian, included in many anthologies and discussed by literary critics.
