Piotr Macierzyński

(b. 1971) – poet.

He has published eight poetry collections: “Danse macabre i inne sposoby spędzania wolnego czasu” (Danse Macabre and Other Pastimes, 2001), “tfu, tfu” (touch wood, 2004), “Odrzuty” (Rejects, 2007), “Zbiór zadań z chemii i metafizyki” (An Exercise Book in Chemistry and Metaphysics, 2009), “antologia wierszy ss-mańskich” (ss-man poetry anthology, 2011), “kwik” (squeal, 2013), “Książka kostnicy” (The Morgue Book, 2017) and “Niezbędnik psychopaty” (The Psychopath’s Kit, 2022). He debuted in 1993 in the journal “Tytuł”. His poems have been published by national literary magazines. He is the laureate of multiple poetry competitions, both national and regional. According to legend circulating in the milieu, the prizes he won in them were, for a time, the poet’s main way of supporting himself. His poems have been translated into English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Ukrainian, Croatian, Slovene, Czech, Slovak, Lithuanian, Catalan, Chinese and Bulgarian, and included in many anthologies. The poet runs his own website.
