Klara Nowakowska

(b. 1978) – poet.

She has published the poetry collections “Zrosty” (Adhesions, 1999), “Składnia” (Syntax, 2004), “Ulica Słowiańska” (Słowiańska Street, 2012) oraz “Niska rozdzielczość” (Low Definition, 2014), and the chapbook “Wodne wiersze” (Water Poems, 2002). The draft of the volume Adhesions received the Grand Prix at the Jacek Bierezin National Poetry Competition (1998). The book Low Definition was nominated for the Silesius Poetry Award (2014). Many literary critics consider Klara Nowakowska to be one of the most original voices in contemporary Polish poetry; her work is sometimes associated with the genre of minimalism.

Her poems have been translated into English, Danish, Spanish and Serbian, and included in many anthologies.
