She debuted in 2023 with the novel “Kundle” (Mongrels), for which she received the Special Award as part of the Witold Gombrowicz Literary Award – a literary residency in Vence – as well as a nomination for the Gdynia Literary Prize and the Conrad Award (all in 2024). Only 127 pages long, Mongrels were a prominent, dazzling and widely discussed debut.
The writer debuted as a musician in 1988, and has been developing her stage career since then. She has recorded ten studio and two live albums, and featured on multiple recordings by other performers. She was awarded the Grand Prix at the Young Talents Festival in Poznań (1988), the Grand Prix and the Journalists’ Award at the Review of Stage Songs in Wrocław (1997), the Aleksander Bardini Award for outstanding achievements in stage singing (2008), the Fryderyk music award (2024) in the “literary and poetic song” for her album “Konstelacje” (Constellations). She has received seven nominations for the Fryderyk music awards, in the categories “sung poetry”, “poetic song” and “poetic music” (2019).
