Jacek Frąś

(b. 1977) – a writer of comic books, painter, poster artist and illustrator.

He graduated from the Faculty of Graphic Arts and Painting at the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź and from the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. In 2009 the comic he illustrated, “Ostra biel” (Sharp White, written by Grzegorz Janusz) was awarded at the International Festival of Comics and Games (MFKiG) in the short form category. In 2017 he received two Orient Men awards for the graphic novel “Totalnie nie nostalgia. Memuar” (Totally No Nostalgia. A Memoir, written by Wanda Hagedorn) in the categories “Best Polish Comic” and “Best Artist”, funded by the Polish Comics Society.

In 2024 his graphic novel “Astronom” (The Astronomer), about the collaboration between Nicolaus Copernicus and Georg Joachim Rheticus, received the MFKiG Award for the best Polish album.
