Damian Kowal

(b. 1990) – poet, novelist, music writer and radio presenter.

He has published three poetry collections: “Najmniejsze przeboje z Tristan da Cunha” (Smallest Hits from Tristan da Cunha, 2016), “Pieśni” (Songs, 2020), “Chameochory” (Chameochors, 2024) and the novel “Ćwirowidło” (Chirpitude, 2023). In 2013 he won the Audience Award in the Jacek Bierezin National Poetry Competition. His debut collection Smallest Hits from Tristan da Cunha received the third award in the Artur Fryz National Poetry Competition and a nomination for the Silesius Poetry Award (both in 2017). He has published his music writing on the Facebook account Nieskończona studnia potencjału, among other outlets. In 2023 he started hosting music programmes for the community radio station Radio Kapitał. He has recorded a few music albums: as volkhvy – two EPs: a mournful rhapsody in memory of cat (2012) and Death is death (2012), as Efrēm – the album Foli (2015).
